I decided that Designer Life needed a new look in 2009, so I set about finding a designer to create a new logo that was fresh and represented my vision for helping people create lives that they love.
I eventually discovered a great new website called www.99designs.com. It’s like an auction site for designs.
Basically you post a contest with a design brief and how much you are willing to pay for the winning design. Then, hundreds of designers actually design logos for you for FREE! You only pay for the winning one.
Here is the new Designer Life Logo:
The sun rising represents new beginnings. It took a week of guiding the designers and I’m so happy with it. I hope you like it as much as I do.

It looks like the sort of theme I need (only my design/decoration tends toward the elaborate…LOL). Like a lot of folks, I could use a bit of a spirit-lifter. I’m working toward becoming self-employed in both music and digital art/photography; and I just started a new blog to promote my Cafepress shops called ‘The LairShops Beckon (http://www.angelfire.com/folk/karivox ). It’s been quite a struggle, as image-based products aren’t selling quite like they used to; but the blog also contains a certain amount of information on the origins of various images, etc.
Anyway, let’s hope things turn around as much as possible economically this year! We all could use a big break these days…

Hey Bruce, it is a cool logo. I reckon you love it because it connects so well to how much time you seem to spend in the sun and on the beach!
