It had to happen some time…
Finally, my faithful laptop of 4 years died… The Blue Screen Of Death took over it’s old soul and it went to PC heaven. Not after much frustration trying to resuscitate it, I might add! (see picture to the right)
So, my buddy Wendi Friesen took me to BestBuy in Irvine, CA, and I bought this new beauty – a Dell Studio XPS 13
I must make a quick shout out to CARBONITE, my online backup service that saved ALL my data (and my life).
Thanks to Carbonite, I was able to download ALL my data to my new PC immediately as if nothing had happened. If you have not yet installed Carbonite on your computer, they offer a free trial. It’s only a matter of time before your computer dies, breaks or someone makes off with it…

what did you do? That’s not the way it works, we’re talking about a new notebook here! What about spending two months researching, comparing the features, see an oracle about how the prices will develop in the future and so on? Then you can go to a shop – not being able to remember anything of the masses of data you evaluated over the last few weeks – and just buy the prettiest one to get it over with
Coming to think about it your way isn’t that bad. You just “saved” two months of your live to go windsurfing or do other stuff you love.

Normally, I’d be researching this little baby for days, but necessity dictated that I just frikkin’ get on with it. I’m glad I did.

Carbonite has saved me from total loss twice now. I agree with Bruce – great value for money too!
