INTRODUCTION Hi there Welcome to the first ever issue of the Moving Mountains newsletter. I am very excited for this opportunity to share insights, stories and tips with you about living a Designer Life, programming the mind and effortlessly manifesting your dreams. I have titled this newsletter Moving Mountains because this image of moving something so massive is exactly what we do every day when we manifest physical events, circumstances and matter into our lives. As impossible as it seems to most people not yet in the know, quantum physics can now prove that we really do create our world through our thinking in a very literal way. THIS MONTH'S FEATURE ARTICLE What's your problem? Earlier this week, I was coaching a friend who struggles to consistantly do his 'mental programming' exercises each morning. When I enquired as to what might be at the source this, he delivered his stock answer, “I have a discipline problem”. I had to contain myself from laughing as I slowly and deliberately responded with, “Really?” I enquired of him as to where I could find this “discipline problem” so that he might consider getting it seen to by a doctor! You get the idea. Every day we all tell ourselves stories that are complete lies. My friend does not have a 'discipline problem'. If I cut him open and looked inside his head, I am certain that I would not find a 'discipline problem'. The 'discipline problem' exists only in his thoughts about himself, but not in reality. I like this example because it perfectly illustrates my point above that we create our world in a very literal way through our thinking. My freind's thoughts about his imaginary 'discipline problem' actually cause him to act in a way that keeps him stuck. There are no problems So how can our hero fix his discipline problem? The first thing I explained to him was that in reality, there was no discipline problem at all, so in reality there was nothing to fix. The moment he saw this for himself, I could almost hear the sound of his mind creaking as it expanded to accommodate this new idea. A second later, the lights went on and he got it. My friend saw that each time he listened to his voice in his head telling him to skip his daily 'mind programming' session, he sold out on himself and more importantly, he sold out on accomplishing his dreams and living the life that he had recently designed. My coaching was, "When you focus on what you don't want (e.g. a discipline problem), you end up attracting more of that thing into your life. Likewise, when you focus on what you do want, you pull those circumstances towards you also." Your results show where your attention goes. Here is a great rule of thumb to live by: You will get more of what you focus on. If you focus your attention on your problems, you will see problems everywhere! Focus your attention only on what you want, and that is what will show up in your life. Remember when you decided to buy your last car? Do you remember how as soon as you chose to buy, let's say a red BMW, you saw red BMW's everywhere? Were the red BMW's always there and you just could not see them or, did they just show up because you were looking for them. I don't think it matters. What matters is where you put your attention because your results show where your attention goes. Got it? Good. If you want to live an extraordinary life, choose extraordinary thoughts. Your predominant thoughts become manifest, so choose them wisely. Complete the following exercise (it will only take 2 minutes) and I promise that something new will show up in your life.
