I am an firm believer that being grateful is an essential ingredient to attracting success into one's life. Without getting too deep into the Quantum Physics of how this works, at a fundamental, sub-atomic level, everything in the universe consists of waves of vibrating energy.
For example, if you were to take a tuning fork, hit it against something hard, it will vibrate and make a sound.
If you bring another, identical tuning fork close to the vibrating one, the second tuning fork also begins vibrating in unison with the first without touching the first.
Science calls this effect sympathetic resonance. Because everything in the Universe vibrates, you and I also vibrate, and like the tuning forks, our energetic vibrations resonate invisibly from our bodies and we attract experiences and events into our lives that resonate with our current emotional and mental states.
Have you ever noticed how your friends probably have similar beliefs to your own? This is an example of sympathetic resonance in action.
So how can you use this?
Allow me to share an example from my own life.
While on tour, I had a chance to practice this principle daily with a friend. Jaime and I were attending a week long seminar (see my blog). Each morning we would meet up and ask each other this question, "What are you grateful for today?"
 |
| Jaime coming first... |
We each spoke for a few minutes until we felt authentically grateful for everything we currently have in our lives.
Still in this feeling of being grateful, we closed our eyes and began imagining what we wanted to happen that day. We spoke or intentions aloud what we saw so that the other person could also share the vision.
The first time we did this, Jaime told me that she saw herself being acknowledged as the top female speaker at the event. Well, only two days later, Jaime won the day's humerous speaking competition and was acknowledged on stage as coming in first place out of 150 other trainers.
Here's what I find even more fascinating. I did not think that Jaime was necessarily the funniest speaker that day, but I believe that she won anyway because she set her intention in a space of gratitude. From gratitude, she powerfully attracted more experiences that resonated with her vision. Winning the competition was one of them.
How to create miracles each day in your life:
-
Wake up and tell someone you love all the things you are grateful for in your life. Do this until you authentically could jump for joy because you feel so happy. Do not stop until you authentically feel grateful. Don't force this. Just let the words and thoughts flow from you.
-
Swap and let your partner do the same.
-
Now, close your eyes and imagine what you want to have happen in your day today. Speak it out loud to your partner describing what you will see, hear, feel, taste and smell once your day is complete today. Don't just speak in conceptual terms. Speak in the language of the mind, the 5 senses. E.g. I can see ..., I can hear ..., I can feel ..., I can taste ..., I can smell...
-
Swap and let your partner do step 3.
-
Together, imagine your vision being released to the universe and go and have a magical day!
If you do not have a partner to do this exercise with, write down what you would say if you had a partner present. |
If you really grasp the power of gratitude and sympathetic resonance and apply it to your life daily, you will be astonished at how quickly you can create anything you want in your life.
